The research program is carried out by the PI, three graduate students (GS) and two post-doctoral researchers (PD), and consists of an experimental component and an extensive modeling and framework development component. The experimental component makes use of the materials characterization
facilities at CMU (the PI is Director of the Materials Characterization Facility) to provide input data for the modeling component.
It is one of the primary goals of this project to develop quantitative forward models for a variety of materials characterization modalities, including electron- and photon-based imaging and diffraction techniques. Details of these forward models as well as all the open source code to run the computations can be found under the EMsoft section of this web site and the resulting publications are listed under the Research Articles section. The team members will be posting recent results on a regular basis in the Recent Posts section.
